Biography

María Teresa Miró earned degrees in psychology from La Universidad de Valencia (Spain) and from The Pennsylvania State University  (USA) and has worked as tenured professor of psychological treatments at La Universidad de La Laguna (Tenerife, Spain) since 1992. She is author or co-author of several books: Aproximaciones a la Psicoterapia (1993), Epistemología Evolutiva y Psicologia, implicaciones para la psicoterapia (1994), Cognitive Therapy and the development of consciousness: living in conviviality (2005) and co-editor of Mindfulness en la práctica clínica (2012). She has published over 50 papers and her current research revolves around application of mindfulness in psychological treatments for fibromyalgia, Alzheimer´s disease, troublesome children and psychosis. She is also director of a post-graduate degree on Mindfulness in Health Contexts.
